Linden Tree Maintenance
- Most common species found in Colorado: The American linden tree is the most popular species in Colorado due to its ability to adapt to pH imbalances in the Colorado soil. Littleleaf and Greenspire are also popular linden tree species found along the Front Range.
- Leaf shape and color: Linden trees can have massive oval-shaped or heart-shaped leaves, reaching up to 7” long with ‘toothy’ edges.
- Bark texture: The straight-vertical patterning with tight fissures (grooves) are a telltale sign of American linden trees.
Most common diseases and pests:
The American linden tree is naturally susceptible to various forms of Anthracnose Fungus, and the leaf spot fungus Cercospora Microsera.
