I discovered that the care of urban trees was my calling at an urban forestry class at the University of Maine. Since, I’ve enjoyed meeting with customers to assess the trees on their property and provide comprehensive solutions for long-term tree care. Being a member of the Fielding Tree Care team means I am part of a group of professional arborists and talented staff who are honest, knowledgeable, and dedicated to the highest level of customer service. When I’m not caring for our customers’ trees, you’ll find me spending quality time in the mountains with my family and dog (a wirehaired pointing griffon). We especially love camping and taking my 80-year old, wooden canoe out on the lake.

Hello, I’m Gabe Fielding, founder and owner of Fielding Tree Care! I got my start in the tree care industry back in 1997. I needed a little extra money and got offered a part-time weekend job with a local tree company. When I saw an arborist climb a tree for the first time, I was hooked.
I started my company after seeing an incredible need for comprehensive, professional tree care services in the south Denver area. Serving you is a responsibility that we hold in the highest regard. This has never been a job for me – it’s a calling and a chance to serve our community with extraordinary care. Our team continuously exhibits honesty, integrity and passion for what they do, and the service we provide. Simply put, we love what we do, and it shows!
I most enjoy when everyone and everything is running like a symphony, all in sync, and watching someone finally “get it” when they are learning tree climbing. I love watching my management staff growing into their positions, and learning to take the wheel on our day-to-day operations. I love a satisfied customer who writes a glowing review. It makes me feel like all the hard work we put into providing the ultimate tree care experience has been recognized and rewarded.
Aside from my business, I have an amazing wife and three crazy boys that support me on my professional journey. We try to spend good quality time together doing whatever they want. I love to create and write music and lyrics. I love to cook and enjoy a great glass of wine. Also, I do yoga and golf whenever I get the chance.

Prior to seeking higher education, I had the opportunity to work for a non-profit organization that partnered with private and public entities to conduct habitat/ecosystem restoration operations in native settings. It was during that time that I developed an interest in natural resources, which ultimately led to a career in urban forestry. The entire staff at Fielding Tree Care is incredibly passionate about urban tree management and the health and wellness of every clients’ trees. Quality care and expertise are values that we all share and appreciate at this particular tree company. In my free time, I love to hike and explore Colorado with my wife. We specifically moved to Colorado to be closer to the western national parks. I am fascinated with native plants, so we tend to seek out unique habitats with interesting floral associations.

A friend and coworker originally introduced me to the job opportunity at Fielding Tree Care. Climbing trees and being outside all day sounded like an awesome way to spend my workday. During my second day on the job, we did a big tree removal by crane, and I was sold from that point forward. Since then, I have grown into a leadership position where I manage crew logistics and communications, ensure proper training and safety protocols, and handle job site coordination and equipment needs. I thoroughly enjoy the everyday challenges of my role and observing the happy faces of our customers when they see their project finished. When I’m not climbing trees, I enjoy my fair share of outdoor recreation, including camping, fishing, hiking, rafting, and paddleboarding. I also love attending concerts and traveling to experience different cultures and the beauties of the world.

I’ve always been fascinated by trees, which led me to pursue a degree in Forestry. Before joining the Fielding Tree Care team, I worked for the USFS, cutting down diseased and dying pine trees. All summer, I would walk around the woods with a Stihl 460, a 36” bar, and a jug of oil and saw gas. It was fun, it was exhausting, and my beard was legendary – peppered with sawdust every day! But it was a seasonal job; so, I moved to Denver. Somehow, on a Tuesday morning, I got a phone call from Gabe Fielding. The rest is history. The most satisfying part of my job is helping our customers identify potential areas for improvement in their trees and shrubs, so they can fully appreciate their outdoor landscape. Beyond tree work, I enjoy gardening, having added probably too many perennials, trees (27 of them), and shrubs to my own landscape.

I’ve been watching Fielding Tree Care grow into the company it is today since the beginning. Along the way, Gabe Fielding (a family friend), presented me with the opportunity to be a part of his growing team, and I was excited to take on the role. Beyond my management tasks, I appreciate that my position gives me the chance to interact with our clients on a day-to-day basis. My background includes customer service and I’ve enjoyed helping the Fielding Tree Care team become established as an honest, dependable, and respected tree company. We pride ourselves on service excellence and customer satisfaction. Although our name might seem big, we embrace the small, family atmosphere that makes us the company you can trust. When I’m not in the office, I love spending time with my family, especially cheering on my son at his baseball games.

Being outside has always been a “must-have” aspect of my career. I earned my degree in biology and had an affinity for the plant science classes. After college, I obtained a job monitoring trees and trimming specifics around power lines throughout southern California. This led to eventually gaining enough knowledge to become an ISA Certified Arborist. The Fielding Tree Care team has a great sense of camaraderie and teamwork, and a strong approach to client service that I haven’t seen in many other workplaces. We aim to be as informative and helpful as possible. It’s a good feeling when you can honestly stand behind what your company is offering its clients. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening and tinkering on small projects with my family. Occasionally, I’ll have some free time away from my “free time” and get into some computer gaming or board games.
